OctoberFest: Thugs, Jugs, & Jesus

October promises to be a busy month at The Bro Show. I am excited to announce that I will have several animations showing at the 2015 Twin Cities Film Fest and the 2015 Flyway Film Festival this October. In addition, I have some other big news I am excited to tell folks about, but that’ll have to wait for another post.

Thugs the Musical

World Premiere

Thugs, the Musical: Drive-By

First off, my newest animated short, Thugs the Musical: Drive-By, which was written and performed by brilliant and hilarious Last Week Tonight writer, Kevin Avery, will be making its World Premiere Thursday, October 29th at 7:30pm at the Twin Cities Film Fest. This short was adapted from a song that was on the soundtrack to Kevin’s original live action version of Thugs, the Musical, which took top honors at the 2012 L.A. Comedy Shorts Film Festival. It was so fun to be able to collaborate with someone as talented and funny as Kevin, so I am excited for people to finally see what we’ve come up with.

Joe Finds Out

Also screening at the Twin Cities Film Fest will be an episode of The Crazy Misadventures of Christ, which will be a part of the Webisodes block, Saturday, October 24th at 12:15pm. It promises to offend a few people, so please attend and protect me from projectile tomatoes and/or balloons filled with holy water.

Jug Band Hokum

In addition to those films, I also did a short animation for the amazing feature length documentary Jug Band Hokum, which was directed by Jack Norton. Jugs will be making it’s World Premiere on Friday, October 23rd at 9:45pm, so I strongly urge you to check it out. It’s pretty insane, not to mention a lot of fun.

Flyway

Oh Noah

If all this weren’t enough, my animated short Oh Noah will be screening at the 2015 Flyway Film Festival, which runs from October 21 to 25. When I know exact screening details, I will post that here, but if you’re a lover of film, you won’t find a better festival than the Flyway Film Festival. The event takes place across the adjoining towns of Stockholm and Pepin, Wisconsin, with the entire community coming out to celebrate film and art. It’s one of the most charming film festivals around, so be sure to check it out, regardless if my film is the one you choose to see. If you’d like to see a filmmaker heckle their own film though, please attend my screening! For more information on Flyway, please visit http://flywayfilmfestival.org.

If you’re able to make any screenings, please make sure to stop by and say hello. I would love to meet you and/or challenge you to an intensely uncomfortable staring contest. Until then though, stay tooned!
